Serik Kulmeshkenov’s art has been exhibited in many countries in North & South America, Europe and Asia. In September 2006 American Embassy in Kazakhstan organized his one-man show in Museum of  Modern Art in Astana, Kazakhstan. Great event was intended to commemorate Serik’s 50th birthday and as a part of  the U.S. cultural program.

Serik Kulmeshkenov has won many international contests. His art has been published in a variety of books, catalogues, magazines, newspapers both in the U.S. and abroad. Some of his notable work has been included in the “Bio-Bibliographical Encyclopedia of Contemporary Art of Ex libris”(1989, Portugal. Vol.8; “An Engraver’s Globe. Wood Engraving World-Wide in the 21st Century” (London, England); and in the 11th volume of “Contemporary International Artists” (2008, Portugal). In 2008 he won important designer award for International Excellence for an ex libris artists – The Albin Brunovssky Certificate.

 Serik Kulmeshkenov was born in Astana, Kazakhstan in 1956. In 1982 he graduated from College of Architecture. In 1985 he became interested in the art of  bookplate design and ever since it has become his life’s passion in art. The artist lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA.
